Brenda Hamilton
I have never forgotten what it is to be a child. The deep craving for the love of my family. The fears in my head that spoke in a voice that had no opposite. The ferocious yearning for the things and experiences of the world. Children are so tender, so open. One misplaced word or gesture can damage a life and one well spoken word or gesture can strengthen, nurture and propel a child towards a happy and fulfilled life. And equally stunning is the journey of the parent! There will not be a more profound love and deep commitment than that which you experience with your child. And I dare say nothing will more clearly expose your strengths and your faults than being a parent. A ceremony is a way of acknowledging the importance and beauty of the job undertaken. A way to set intentions and remind ourselves and others of their importance in the life of this small person. I bring my love of children, my powerful Grandma energy and my respect for your journey to welcome and bless your child.
Baptism Stories
The welcoming ceremony had a personal quality, with the beautiful poem and readings, that made it special for us as parents. The extra TLC you added to the ceremony made it extra special. You were warm and friendly, organized and thoughtful and we would have you back anytime! Thanks again for a wonderful memory!
